Programs Eligibility 

Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.):
Requires passing the 10+2 examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate for Physics, Mathematics, and one subject from Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or Technical Vocational. A valid score in the JEE Main Examination is required.

Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology (B.Tech Biotechnology):
Requires passing the 10+2 examination or equivalent with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. A valid score in the NEET examination is required.

Bachelor of Technology in Biomedical Engineering (B.Tech Biomedical Engineering):
Candidates must have passed 10+2 with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. A valid score in the NEET examination is required.

Bachelor of Engineering Lateral Entry (BE Lateral Entry):

Master of Arts in Psychology (MA Psychology):
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, or in Home Sciences, Nursing, Human Development, or a minimum 3-year B. Tech program, with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates). Psychology as a subject at the undergraduate level is required.

Master of Science (M.Sc):

Placements

As of July 15, 2023, 334 recruiters visited the campus of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, leading to a total of 1,884 job offers extended to students. Infrastructure

Library 

The library is located in a centrally air-conditioned, beautifully designed building that remains open 24/7 throughout the year. It houses an extensive collection of over 1,06,000 printed items, including books, theses, dissertations, journal back issues, standards, and reports. Additionally, the library boasts an electronic collection of more than 4,500 items, including CDs, VCDs, and DVDs. A rich selection of research and reference materials, such as bibliographies, research reports, and reference books, is also available. Alongside standard textbooks, the library offers professional and supplementary reading materials. For personal development, there is an expanding collection of books and multimedia resources on topics like leisure, homemaking, and soft skills. The collection is regularly updated with new editions and publications. The library has four reading halls, accommodating up to 350 people.

Hostel 

The institute offers 13 hostels, with 8 for boys and 5 for girls, each equipped with essential amenities. These include water coolers, gym rooms, TV rooms, air-conditioned reading rooms, table tennis rooms, night canteens, RO water systems, washing machines, and geysers in all bathrooms. The hostels also feature facilities like indoor games, well-maintained lawns, and high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity. The hostel mess caters to students’ food and nutrition needs, with regularly updated menus to ensure a variety of healthy meals. For security, the hostels are equipped with CCTV cameras and have a 24-hour security guard stationed for safety.
